Euthanasia is the painless killing of a patient suffering from an illness that cannot be cured. Should Euthanasia be permitted? Should people be allowed to choose to live or die?
hmm, i for one, support euthanasia. i don't like the sight and the thought of any living thing to suffer. perhaps so, i rather, anything to die as soon as possible instead to suffer and die a slow and painful death.
in fact, i support putting patients who are in long-term coma and brain dead to sleep. stray animals or animals who are handicapped, i too, support the idea of putting it to sleep.
call me cruel or anything but in those cases, i can only lament for them in silence.
I would support the use of euthanasia. I understand this is considered killing of life but it is also taking pain away.
If this particular patient is suffering from an illness that cannot be cure, I guess it will be better for him and his family from the pain, the time, the cost and the effort. I asked myself a question about this, who are we to judge if this is correct or not? How about something like white lies? Who are we and how are we suppose to judge?
What i do know is that we should do things with a clear and good purpose in mind. If taking away the life of his is the better way, I will go for it. But of course serious consideration is needed. After all, he is your love one and by doing this, you will not see him again.
As much as I hate to see a family memeber or close friend suffer, I still do not support the use of euthanasia.
A life is a life, whether in proper use or not. Who are we to decide who lives or dies? I for one cannot bear the guilt nor continue living for the rest of my life knowing that I helped end a life. Not unless I know for sure that it is what my friend or family member wants.
In my opinion,I do not suppport this idea of euhanasia. Mayb,we can rebutt that the proces of euthanasia would 'save' that life from suffering. But at the same time,i feel that by doing this, the people i've had acly suffering more than us w/o us realising dat.. i beleive we all must be very suopportive and not let other people decide on our life..and that we should live life to the fullest. Even when we face dis kind of situations. To me,there is no point that i give up on my own life ad to go for dat.We must realise that our life is special and to treasure it well..
Im against the use of euthanasia or anything which has got to do with ending of people lives even though you might think it is the best way for a person to escape from their suffering and pains.
Firstly,to me it is a very cruel thing to use it to people unless he/she is willing to receive euthanasia. It is similar to killing lives and I really think those who practice euthanasia should face the same consequences with those homicide criminals receive.
Secondly,I believe miracle do happen. So therefore there is no such thing that "there is no hope for this person to live any longer" phrase. If we let the person just live, there will be at least chances for them to recover and live a normal life again but if we "kill" them with euthanasia, the person will be just dead.
I support Euthanasia. Although it is a way of killing but in another perspective, it is actually freeing someone from pain and suffering.
Ultimately, the person that choose to die or to live depends on the sick himself/herself. Its his or her life, no one can choose for them.
To me, death is a better choice then fighting a deathly, incurable disease, when u had to live in fear everyday, not knowing if u can see tomorrow, being hospitalised for the rest of your life, unable to go to the outside world.
I feel that those with incurable disease should live on till their last breath on Earth. You might want to fulfil ur last wishes before your life ends. If i am the one suffering i believe i will want to have the strength to fight to just live for another day and you would not know maybe a miracle could happen. Maybe that glimmer of hope to receive a miracle is quite unachieveable but to really spend your last few days with ur loved ones is satisfying enough to live the world in peace.
I do not support the use of euthanasia. Firstly, we were all taught that life is precious and we should all cherish life. I believe it is not within our rights to remove life as according to our will. Thus, I feel that it is not correct to perceive that life is worthless in the case of terminally-ill patients. Even if one is sickly and has an incurable illness, his life is still just as precious as anyone else.
Hence, I believe that by permitting euthanasia, it will show the disregard for the sanctity of life and also undermines the value of human life.
Furthermore, although a terminally-ill patient may request for voluntary euthanasia so as to end his suffering, however, from the flip side of the coin, it may also be perceived as the patient trying to commit assisted suicide. How then can this be morally acceptable?
Thus, I strongly feel that euthanasia should not be permitted.
I feel that Euthanasia should be allowed. Rather then keep suffering, why not just choose to die peacefully.
Next, a persons life IS his own, surely we should be allowed to make our desicions on OUR own body? Unless you can walk up to a person and say "hey, that body you are in is mine", then Euthanasia should not be allowed.
I do support the use of euthanasia. However, only to a certain extent. Who are we to decide who lives and who dies? I do support it only if the patient wants it. If he or she is already dying and we're keeping him or her alive, it is just too painful or punishing to keep on living, however, we still cannot decide for someone else's live. What would it be like if the decision for you to live or die is in someone else's hands?

I supports euthanasia as I think that patients who have lose the will to live could be put to sleep to end the agony and pain. In cases whereby a patient is suffering from incurable diseases, should be given a choice to terminate his life or live on. Although Euthanasia opposes the human living rights, i believe that most people will go for Euthanasia as it is more humane to kill somebody terminally ill than to let him/her live on suffering in pain. I think that even the patient's family members wouldn't want to see him/her in pain. Therefore we should learn to respect the patient's choice and to letting it go.
I think that euthanasia should be allowed. this would reduce the person's suffering to a minimum. This, however, must be permitted by the "decesed-to-be" or one of his/her close ones, in case the "decesed-to-be" is not in the state of mind to make decision. I also feel that since a person is living, he/she has every right to decide what is to become of him/her. In this case, if the person wishes to die painlessly, why not?
I support euthanasia although i am aware that it is taking a life away. However i feel someone who is living in pain with no hope of surviving is not living, he is merely existing. And this in my opinion is one of the worst states to be in as you are not considered to be alive or dead. Existing not only prevents you from moving on to the after life so to peak it also holds your loved ones back and just brings unneccasary pain and hurt to everyone around. So if euthanasia would spare you from merely existing and also bring some peace and comfort to your loved ones knowing that you are out of pain and have moved on to a better place why shouldnt it be practiced.
I think that euthanasia should be permitted, but should be performed when the patient is in a state where he cannot move or talk. If he cant move and talk, there is little he can achieve by living on. Thus nothing is compromised when he is "killed".
I think of it as a similar situation to a person in coma or "vegetable" state where the family can decide when to pull the plug on the life support system.
No one knows what lies ahead for him, as he may reach a better place!
I support the idea of euthanasia. Its better than long term suffering to both the patients and their families.
No one will wants to give up their lives easily but at times, we do not have much choice. Take for example, if there is this particular patient who is suffering from severe brain damage and have to lay on hospital bed as long as forever. What if he happens to be the sole bread winner of the family. What is going to happen to the rest of them? Besides the heavy medical bills, what about the blows they need to face mentally? The sight seeing your love ones lying in bed, in pain, and there is nothing you can do about it. The helpless feeling is really unbearable. To lighten thier burdens, the best solution is to let him go painlessly. The patient himself would want to do that too. Why suffer in pain for the next twenty years if you can end it instantly.
Euthanasia can be apply to other cases such as incurable cancer patients, AIDS patients. However, agreement should be sign by both the family and patient beforehand.
In my opinion, I STRONGLY disagree the practice of euthanasia. So what if the patient is suffering from an incurable illness / disease. Life is given by God and ending it will be "playing God" . Who are you to take what you did not give. Besides, the patient should be given a choice to choose because it's HIS/HER life thats concerned. Painless or not, i disagree with it. People DEFINITELY should be allowed to live or die. Because it's THEIR OWN LIFE. And we only live once. So live it to the fullest and leave the world naturally instead of being injected with some substance that kills you because it shut down your heartbeat or breathing etc. etc. -ISAIAH HOW JIA JIE
Personally, i think that euthanasia should not be permitted. I believe that each and every individual have his or her right to choose whether to live or to die and even though suffering from a terminal illness. It does not give anyone any rights to 'rob' away time that these patients could have used to spend quality time with their families or love ones.
Even if the patient choose to die, it is still a sin to take away someone's life. Life is precious, much more valuable than anything in the world.
Humans are compassionate creatures, so why are we doing all these? To stop their sufferings? I don't think so. With proper care and love from family members, it could envelop even the greatest pain from there terminal illness.
